The next general municipal election for the City of Azusa will be held on November 8, 2022, for the following seats:

  •     Mayor 
  •     Two (2) Councilmembers  
  •     One (1) Councilmember, Unexpired term ending November 2024.
  •     City Clerk 
  •     City Treasurer 

Nomination Period

Monday, July 18 through Friday, August 12 at 12:00 p.m. *

The City Clerk's Office is normally closed on Fridays, however, will remain open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022 for official close of nomination period. Appointments are highly recommended. 

*Nomination period will be extended to 5:30 p.m. on August 17, 2022, if an incumbent fails to file nomination papers by the August 12 deadline.

EXTENDED CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD
 
*Filing is extended if an incumbent eligible for re-election does not file for re-election prior to 12:00 p.m. on August 12, 2022. Incumbents are not eligible to file during the extended period.

August 18, 2022

RANDOMIZED ALPHABET DRAWING
 Secretary of State to conduct a random alpha draw to determine the order of candidate's name on the ballot. 

August 15 - 22, 2022

PUBLIC EXAMINATION PERIOD
 Public review period for the candidate statements and ballot designations.

October 24, 2022

15-DAY VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR THE NOVEMBER 2022 ELECTION

November 8, 2022

CERTIFICATION OF RESULTS
 Certification of election results and installation of newly elected officials
