The recent wildfires in California have been attributed to ignition caused by high voltage electrical lines coming in contact with vegetation. While Azusa Light & Water (ALW) provides electrical service in the high fire risk zone in the north part of the City, no wildfires have ever been caused by ALW electrical facilities. As a community-owned utility, ALW’s mission is to provide safe and reliable power to the community.

Please take a moment to review and provide feedback on the Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) approved by the City Council on December 16, 2019. The WMP identifies the City of Azusa’s wildfire risks and prescribes the preventative programs and activities to be implemented within the very high fires hazard severity zones in ALW’s service territory.
