Azusa Reads/Writes/Counts and Calculates
Overview
For the students of Azusa Unified School District (kindergarten through fifth grade) and St. Frances, Azusa City Library has teamed up with Azusa Pacific University to help kids with their reading, writing and math skills. Azusa Pacific University provides college students as tutors to help and encourage children to succeed in the classroom. New this year, APU will work with the district to do enrollment verification. Students from others schools will be put on a wait list.
Azusa Reads/Writes/Counts offers free tutoring at the Azusa City Library in reading, writing, and math for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Registration and tutoring for the 2022-2023 school year.
Sign-Ups
A schedule is posted in the library and sign-ups will be on a first-come, first-served basis for 1-on-1 tutoring. * 3 sessions per week maximum. TUTORING IN ENGLISH ONLY.
*Program and Dates subject to change.
Sessions are every half hour on:
- Monday - 3 pm - 7 pm
- Tuesday - 3 pm - 6 pm
- Wednesday - 3 pm - 6 pm
- Thursday - 3 pm - 5 pm
Azusa Calculates
Azusa Calculates also begins Tuesday, September 4th. It's for grades 6-12 and tutors many math subjects--Algebra, Trig, Calculus and even Physics in some cases. Held every Tuesday and Wednesday 5-7pm.Azusa Calculates is by appointment only. Parents need to call Alexandra Oliva at (626) 815-6000 ext. 2842 or email cap@apu.edu to make an appointment.
